Standard of the Cofradía de Nuestro Padre Jesús Nazareno
A standard is a badge, distinctive or flag of a partnership. This standard, released in 1934, is embroidered in silver on burgundy velvet. The designer is unknown but likely are the same nuns of the Asilo de San Miguel where it was made. It was expanded in 1956 and renovated in 2007.
We can say that belongs to modern art as it was made in almost half of the XX century, although it is a religious art, which follows certain traditions and Christian iconography.
It belongs to the Agrupación del Descendimiento, in the Cofradía Marraja, in Cartagena, Murcia, España.
In conclusion, to me the standards as banners are interesting and this example shows that even in the XX century and today are still using these things.
It is in the Cofradía Marraja, in Murcia, Spain.
