Morning Bouquet by Alfred Guillou

Morning Bouquet by Alfred Guillou

Morning Bouquet is a painting of the French painter Alfred Guillou. He is a painter of the XIX century, with all that that entails. For me this painting is between realism and impressionism, because although the woman is quite realistic, background and flowers are impressionistic. The painting depicts a woman with flowers, with a look that I think is innocent. It is a portrait.
Alfred Guillou was a French painter who lived between the second half of the XIX century and early XX century. It was an academic painter. His most common artworks were scenes of everyday life.
Realism is developed between 1850 and 1875 in France as a reaction to excessive romanticism and sentimentality own features and represent things as they really are. Furthermore, Impressionism is also developed in France, between the years 1860 and 1886. It is an artistic movement that breaks with realism. The new conception of the artist was trying to convey the changing rhythm of things under the influence of the spontaneously perceived, using the vibration of light.

In conclusion, this painting in my opinion is a masterpiece of portraiture. When I saw it I kept it and waited for it to comment a painting to do so. I love it.
It is in Rehs Galleries, New York, in the United States of America.
